About Me

I grew up surrounded by world-class artistic organizations that would have a deep impact on my future endeavors. Beginning on piano at a young age, I became involved in bands, choirs and orchestras throughout my adolescence. At 13, I started to find interest in writing my own music, leading me to find composition as a primary area of study.

I’ve written for a variety of ensembles, ranging from solo piano to full orchestra. Recent premieres include chamber works for both the Pallant House in Chichester and the Roberts Institute of Art in London. I’m  especially drawn, though, to theatre and opera writing, thanks in large part to very early experiences performing at the Lyric Opera of Chicago (with featured roles in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte). I took part in the Glyndebourne Opera Lab in February 2024, where I joined fellow Royal Academy of Music Master’s students in a three-day residency at Glyndebourne to develop new explorations of music theatre, led by Glyndebourne artistic director Stephen Langridge, composer Tansy Davies and librettist/soprano Jessica Walker. In March 2024, I premiered a scene for three singers and piano in collaboration with librettist Edie Bailey, which is currently being reworked into a full-length chamber opera (with a London premiere in autumn 2025). My piece, long way home., was selected to be performed at the Echofluxx 24 Festival in Prague, with a performance given by Prague Modern. My music has also previously been performed by the PRISM Quartet, the Big Red Horn Ensemble (including a performance of my horn octet Alpenstimmen at the 2023 International Horn Society Symposium in Montréal), and the Indiana University Symphonic Band. I was also recently commissioned by the Illinois Music Education Association to write a series of etudes to be used in auditions for upcoming all-state festival seasons.

I’ve also taken an interest in writing music beyond the concert hall. I took part in a masterclass with video game composer Gareth Coker, and completed a film scoring project under the guidance of composer and instrumentalist Andrea Balency-Béarn.

Now based in Vienna, I’m beginning a German intensive course in preparation for a media composition postgraduate certificate at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (MDW), studying under Judith Varga.

I received my Master of Music with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in November 2024 after completing a one-year intensive course. I received my Bachelor of Music from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2023, also completing a Music Entrepreneurship Certificate through Jacobs and the Kelley School of Business. I’ve studied with Edmund Finnis, Han Lash, Gabriele Proy, Aaron Travers, Jeremy Podgursky, P.Q. Phan and Don Freund.
